| A modern town with historical flair - that's what makes Bad Kreuznach so
attractive. The River Nahe divides Bad Kreuznach into two parts, each with its own special
flair. The largest part - let's call it the "city" - is to the right. To the
left is the historic old town - an exciting mixture of vitality and picturesque scenes.
It's worth taking a closer look at "Little Venice" on the Ellerbach; a
successful combination of old and new buildings preserving the original character of the
area. . . Bad Kreuznach has that extra something for your dynamic health programme. Care for your health is the mainspring of our town. The beneficial effects of the local salt-springs have been appreciated since the days of the Celts and the Romans. ln 1817 Dr. Johann Prieger used the springs for a medicinal bathing therapy, laying the foundations for the spa of Kreuznach. In 1904 the pharmacist Karl Aschoff discovered radon substances in Kreuznach's salt-springs and porphyry rocks, and in 1912 the world's first centre for radon inhalation therapy was established on the banks of the Nahe. The town is also the Rhineland Palatinate's centre for the treatment of rheumatism. As well as the local specialities, such as baths making use of mud, salt water and bubbling spring water, Bad Kreuznach can also offer the traditional medical methods of the Far East. Each element will make a special contribution to your health. The exclusive Crucenia Thermen, as well as the private centres, all have one goal: your well-being. Bad Kreuznach's Baderhaus (Bathing House) is the loveliest place for a sauna in the whole of Germany. It has always been a temple of stylish relaxation. At the beginning of the last century it catered for the aristocracy and now it helps the stressed business person to re-establish balance. It offers the most refined and beneficial forms of spa and sauna culture, with Scandinavian, oriental and Roman baths, all using water and steam to strengthen the immune system. You will be cared for by an expert staff who master the art of beauty and wellness - and all this in surroundings which have been carefully and lovingly created by renowned architects, designers and craftsmen. The schedule of activities outlined in the following three packages is merely a recommendation from the Tourism and Marketing Association. Of course, our guests are welcome to put together an individual program which meets their desires. GETTING THERE from Frankfurt Airport: 45 minutes by car, 1 hour and 20 minutes by train. |
